The Here and Now

At this moment is our reality; we are in a place that accumulates every choice, decision, and experience. The next moment is what is to come – the future is always out of reach until it becomes the present.

Okay, enough of that philosophical stuff. At this moment, there is potential!

C.S. Lewis stated, “ you can’t go back and change the beginning, but we can start where we are and change the ending.” That is all we have the potential to change our trajectory – are you where you want to be? Are you doing what you want to be doing? And perhaps more importantly, are you following someone else’s dream? Or are you visualizing your own?

Easy questions to ask, but hard to answer. However, we can use tools to understand our here and now and look at how we want to experience personal growth. I have learned that there are present signals that we can acknowledge and intuitively understand when we still ourselves, quiet our minds and sit in honesty.

Find that space in your day, even if it is just 10 minutes to examine your day, the last week – keep going backwards, day after day- 10 minutes each time, you will begin to see patterns, and from those patterns ‘see’ the gaps, what speaks to you, the first step forward is to understand what you are carrying with you. This acknowledgement will bubble up dreams and hopes and ignite motivation, inspiration, and personal growth.

We need quiet and stillness to gather our potential before we embark upon action from our here and now.

What does your here and now contain? How have your quiet thoughts helped you to uncover your next steps?
